This sewing pattern works best with fabric intended for sweatshirts, sweatpants, and hoodies. Here are recommendations for your new shorts.
French Terry
French terry has with a smooth outer face and distinct, interlocking loops of yarn on the reverse side. This fabric can usually be found in fully cotton or with small blends of elastance/spandex. It is breathable and lightweight. This fabric is better if you intend to use the shorts for sports or warm weather.
Sweatshirt Fleece (Brushed Fleece)
Sweatshirt fleece has a smooth face with the inside brushed into a fluffy, plush pile for maximum warmth and softness. This fabric is usually made from a cotton polyester blend. The inside of the sweatshorts will have brushed fleece making it feel warmer and cozier.
