Lightweight cottons works best with this sewing pattern. Here are some recommendations and more info!
Cotton
Cotton is a great fabric for this sewing pattern. It is durable and has great breathability. When searching for fabrics, lightweight woven is preferred. Stay away from heavy quilting cottons which will give a more tense look to the shorts.
Seersucker fabric works great here as well as embroidered cotton which adds a bit of texture to your shorts. This is also a great pattern for recycling old bed sheets. Consider using cotton blend fabrics like linen cotton blend.
Linen
Linen is a great option for this sewing pattern. It is lightweight, highly breathable, and moisture-wicking. Linen is also more environmentally sustainable than cotton, requiring far less water and fewer chemicals to grow than cotton.
However, linen tends to get wrinkly more easily. Pure linen fabric may be on the pricier side, so consider linen blend fabrics with cotton.
