Fabric Considerations
This sewing pattern requires stretch fabric. This sewing pattern is sized with ribbed knit cotton fabric with only horizontal stretch. Here are some suggestions for your new tee or long-sleeve!
Cotton Ribbed Knit
This is the ideal fabric for this sewing pattern. This fabric has higher elasticity and bounce, especially across the width (horizontal stretch), and is typically heavier and thicker. This fabric has a nice ribbed texture. However, this fabric may stretch out over time. Be careful when purchasing this fabric that you do not purchase heavy-weight ribbing that is meant for hoodie/sweatshirt cuff and collar accents.
Cotton Jersey/Knit
Cotton jersey is more often used for basic t-shirts. It is thinner than ribbed knit fabric and has a smoother look on the surface. This fabric sometimes does not have the best shape retention.
Ribbed knit and jersey fabric differ primarily in their knit structure, stretch, and texture.
Wash your fabric before using.
